I was supposed to fly home on Sunday, but apparently, we got a couple of snowflakes in the DC area, all the airports shut down, and my flight got moved to Tuesday. So I had to leave this:
...and come home to shovel out this:
On the plus side, it only took me an hour to dig the old girl out.
Metro is still fucked past the Ballston stop on the Orange Line, and my brother was still snowed in, so it took me two trains, two buses, and a cab to get home from the airport. I so want to be sitting on sunny Orient Beach in St. Maarten with a Mai Tai again. :-(

If I had a job where I could telecommute, I would be on a beach in the Caribbean. Love that place.

So strange - many articles written about how NYC (where I live) got back to normal so quickly and DC shit the bed. Having grown up there, I can say with conviction that DC/MD/VA drivers are among the worst when the weather goes wrong.

I really don’t understand ... DC only has to send a delegation up here. We’re really friendly (despite evidence to the contrary) and would tell them how to do it.
